Apple Cider Vinegar Remedies and Treatments
APPLE CIDER VINEGAR CURES – Information about the redeeming qualities of apple cider vinegar and how it helps with allergies, sinus infections, acne, high cholesterol, flu, chronic fatigue and low energy, candida, acid reflux, sore throats, contact dermatitis, arthritis, gout, blood pressure, weight loss, etc. Benefits extend to animals, such as dogs, in helping them with arthritis, fleas, and adding nice shine to their coats. (Note to self: Try using a rinse of 1 part ACV to 3 parts water on Bonsai with his next bath.) Also information on ACV and its long-term effects on tooth enamel (and how to prevent any detrimental effects).
Some have suggested using apple cider vinegar (mixed with water) as a sleep aid. Try mixing two teaspoons ACV and two teaspoons honey in a glass of hot water. Drink half hour before bedtime. (See also Insomnia Remedies – Some Ideas for Getting Some Sleep.)
Apple cider vinegar is supposed to be especially effective in getting rid of dandruff and treating seborrhea. A treatment idea for dandruff, especially for darker hair, is to apply an ACV rinse to your hair (don’t wash out yet), wrap hair in towel (use an old towel), and allow to sit for half hour. Rinse thoroughly. Use a few times a week, as needed.
Apple cider vinegar is also supposedly great for taking away the itch and sting from insect bites, including wasp stings and mosquito bites. For example, an effective treatment for the irritation and itching associated with wasp stings is to mix apple cider vinegar with baking soda to make poultice and apply to bite.
For a cramp, try mixing one tablespoon apple cider vinegar with one teaspoon honey in a glass of warm water. Drink quickly. (You want an apple cider vinegar that is rich in potassium. Look at your health food stores.)
For oral thrush (Candida), mix apple cider vinegar and warm water with a dash of salt. Rinse mouth thoroughly.
