Most Delicious Homemade Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

This recipe makes the best chocolate chip cookies that remain soft after baked and are a consistent thickness. The secret is in the preparation as well as, of course, the ingredients. For an extra special delicious treat, add in a cup of macadamia nuts for a portion of the chocolate chips!

Most Delicious Homemade Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

INGREDIENTS
2 1/2 cups flourApron with Chocolate Chip Cookie and the words Feed Me Cookies and Tell Me No Lies
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp coarse salt
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 sticks butter at room temperature
2 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
1 1/4 to 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
1 cup macadamia nuts (optional in place of 1/3 c of chocolate chips)

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 375°F / 190°C.

Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.

Cream butter, sugars, and vanilla, then beat in eggs one at a time. Add dry ingredients slowly and stir until well combined. Fold in chocolate chips and optional nuts. Line cookie sheet(s) with parchment paper, and drop dough by the spoonful (golf ball size), spacing two inches apart. Flatten evenly with your fingers or the bottom of a measuring cup until cookies are approximately 1/2″ thick.

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in preheated oven. The first batch will likely take 9 to 10 minutes, with each consecutive batch will taking closer to 8 minutes. Remove cookies from oven and let cool for a minute or two. Transfer to cooking rack or plate. Then, enjoy!

Recipe is based on Chocolove Chip Cookies, and we highly recommend using their dark chocolate chips. The added macadamia nuts and coarse salt make all of the difference between a great cookie and the best cookie!
