Finding the Best Deals and Bargains Online
Whether you’re looking to save some money on Christmas presents, Mother’s day presents, Father’s day gifts, graduation gifts, birthday gifts, or other special gift-giving occasion, or just looking to save some money on things you’re buying for yourself, here’s a list of some web sites that can help you do so:
FatWallet
http://www.fatwallet.com
FatWallet has forums where you can ask for coupons if looking for additional savings with a particular merchant, including brick and mortar stores and internet businesses. Be sure to check out their Hot Deals forum as well and to sign up for their Cash Back and earn money while you shop (and save)!
Deals of America
http://www.dealsofamerica.com/
One of the best sites for easy to see sweet deals! Love their format! They also publish information about items that are FAR – Free After Rebate – or that you *make* money on with rebates for all of you serious bargain hunters.
DealDetectives
http://www.dealdetectives.com/
Also includes coupons and forums. Includes RSS feed so you can keep up to date on the new Great Deal postings without even having to visit the web site!
Hot-Deals
http://www.hot-deals.org/
Could be formatted better, but can be useful to pick up some additional bargains. Includes an RSS feed as well.
Slick Deals
http://www.slickdeals.net/
Nice site…includes coupons and forums. Also features easy access to a price search comparison tool (powered by PriceGrabber.com).
dealcoupon
http://dealnews.com/
Great one for finding the latest coupon codes and promotional codes for online stores! Whether you’re looking for deals on contacts, perfume, computers, car parts, clothing, or anything else…look here for a coupon.
Fishing for Deals
http://www.fishingfordeals.com
We’ve received some complaints about this site and the “over” moderation in their forums. According to readers, they will often change authors’ posts without any notice and to suit their own agenda (oy). If you can look past that though, you might want to check for deals in their Catch of the Day forum — just keep your FatCash links handy and use those to shop!
Techbargains
http://www.techbargains.com
The focus of Techbargains is primarily on tech items such as computers, digital cameras, software, hardware, and electronics, but they do somewhat venture off into other areas such as apparel, furniture, food, beauty, pet supplies, sporting goods, toys, etc. They also have an active forums area of their website where you can do such things as request help on finding that special deal, vent about a bad shopping experience, and make trades. For the sweepers, forum members also post information about current sweepstakes and contests.
These are my favorite links to shopping saving sites…especially around the holidays! They’re often handy to use as product review sites as well when trying to determine if what looks like a good deal really is… I’ll update this list from time to time if I find others that I think are especially useful.
Someone wrote in and shared a link to a site I hadn’t discovered yet. After taking a look around it, it looks worthy of a mention.
boddit
http://www.boddit.com
Boddit aggregates and compiles deals from many bargain websites, including some of the ones mentioned above (the deals link directly back to the websites where they were gathered from). You can sort the results from certain categories by time posted, so you see the very latest deals. You can also refine your search to just show deals on such things as name brand or features of a certain item, like Canon digital cameras or 7+ megapixel cameras. Boddit also showcases One Day deals. Looks really useful…
Have fun shopping!
