Foaming Soap Refill Recipes with Essential Oils

Cleaning

Keep those foaming soap containers and refill them for pennies by mixing your own home-made solutions.

Foaming Soap Refill Recipe

3 to 5 T Unscented liquid hand soap, body wash, or dish soap*
2/3 C water

Add separately to empty foam soap dispenser. The Dial® foaming soap dispensers are my personal favorites.

To add fragrance, choose one of the following combinations:

2 drops sweet orange essential oil
1 drop jasmine essential oil
1 drop eucalyptus essential oil

1 drop lemon essential oil
1 drop lavender essential oil
1 drop sweet orange essential oil

2 drops rose essential oil
2 drops frankincense essential oil

2 drops neroli essential oil
2 drops mandarin essential oil

If there’s a single essential oil that you really enjoy from the above list, such as lavender, you can simply use three to four drops of it without combining it with any others.

Alternatively, you can just use normal scented hand soap, body wash, or dish soap and not add any essential oils to it, as the above soap to water formula will work for it.

*I use 5 T Seventh Generation Free & Clear™ Natural Dishwashing Liquid. Castile soap may work as well, but I have not tried yet.

The use of essential oils is not recommended for the very young or aged, or pregnant/nursing women. It is the belief of this site that essential oils should not be used internally, only externally and topically. A skin test should always be done before using an essential oil, especially important for those more sensitive or vulnerable. Consult a reputable and experienced aromatherapist for guidance. If you are under the care of a physician, it is recommended that you contact them before using essential oils.
