Recipes and Tips for Making Homemade Dog Treats

Dogs

pamperedpuppy has what sounds to be (will follow up) some great sounding recipes for home-made dog treats. One of our pugs didn’t too well with carob the one time we let him have it, so we’ll skip the carob drops cookies. But the pumpkin cookies will definitely be tried. (Aside: canned pumpkin is said to be good for adding fiber to their diets.) Since Merry the pug approved, I’m sure ours will. 🙂 (I especially like that the author is a believer in organic cooking as we are as well.)

According to bellaonline.com‘s article “Make Your Own Gourmet Pet Treats“, ingredients to stay away from when making your pooch yummies are:

  • Chocolate (big no no…use carob instead)
  • Onions
  • Grapes/raisins
  • Macadamia nuts
