Ideas and Recipes for Softer Hair
To add softness to your hair, look for hair products with panthenol (aka “pro vitamin B5”). Many Kiss My Face products (my favorite brand) have this ingredient.
According to Household Hints and Tips:
“I use mayonnaise to periodically condition my hair (do not use miracle whip-real mayonnaise only). Apply mayo to dry hair, work through thoroughly. Cover with plastic cap, wrap in warm towel and leave on for 20-30 minutes. Wash as usual. Leaves hair shiny and conditions it also.”–Sue Barnard
Recipes to use once a week or once every two weeks to deep condition and bring softness to your hair:
Hair Reviver Recipe
1/2 teaspoon olive oil
3 Tablespoons conditioner
Heat in microwave for 10 seconds. Smooth over hair and comb through. Let set for 15 minutes. Shampoo out.
Soft and Silky Hair Recipe
1 Tablespoon honey
1 Tablespoon olive oil
Mix ingredients. Smooth over hair and comb through. Wrap with warm towel. Let set for 15 minutes to a half hour. Shampoo out. (If you have longer or shorter hair can adjust accordingly.)
Soft and Silky Hair Recipe #2
1 medium avocado, peeled and pitted
1 Tablespoon honey
1 Tablespoon olive oil
Mash and mix ingredients together. Apply to hair. Leave on for 15 to 30 minutes. Rinse and shampoo out.
